Play Style

Social/Backup Raider: I am willing to spot fill when needed, but I understand a place is not guaranteed
Social: I have no current aspirations to raid

Which of the following days each week are you available? Please see the top post for details of our current raid days.
Currently "flexible" in terms on online evenings, Sunday to Thursday, in as much as a couple of nights a week as/when/if needed. Fridays & Saturdays are sporadic.
However, current working conditions, mean that full on days mean that I can sometimes lack the motivation to get online as I just want to sleep. This is why raiding has taken even more of a back seat over the last 18 months. In fact it's beyond the back seat and currently languishing somewhere in the boot.

Why did you chose your current spec?
After I fell out of love with pewpewing on Elora, I decided to try healing. Despite being quite hopeless at the start, and hating almost every minute of it, considering my online time and exposure to raiding over the past few years, I do alright considering. I know, ringing endorsement, right? ;)

Quite enjoy healing now, kind of like the utility of it, couldn’t really imagine doing anything else. The cameraderie between the healers has been wonderful during raiding, couldn't have asked for a more supportive group of people.

Never liked Boomkin, it's just so… slow. Or at least it is when I play it ;) Seriously considering a kitty OS

Tell us a little about your spell/shot/melee rotation & general play style in a raid/dungeon/group situation. (You may link stats websites such as WoL in support of your application)
Erm… Well. Been a while since I raided, but Lifebloom on Tank, refreshed by direct heals, Iron Bark, Rejuv HoTs ticking away, swiftmend, free procs of regrowth with Omen of clarity, shroom of loveliness under tank/melee group, sometimes ranged if extra druids, spam wildgrowth when on CD, Tranq on macro, usually just before/during high damage periods.

Choose THREE of the following which best describes your usual WOW week. Delete those which do NOT apply
- Inguild only group instancing
- Social questing with guild mates
- Levelling existing alts

+ buggering about in the hairdressers

Which of your achievements in WoW are you the most proud of, and why? *This does not have to be a recognised Blizzard acheivement - it could just be the slog of levelling from 1 - 85, or looting an item you have farmed for a long time*
Personally, probably when I completed the hunter epic quest back in Vanilla. Drove me nuts, and on more than one occasion the demon in Burning Steppes despawned mid fight when a "helpful" passer-by tried to join in the fun. Despite playing hunter for a few years prior, probably only really learned to play through that experience. Strafe, who knew?!

Another "high" point, was accidently shooting Vaelastrasz in BWL in the backside, wiping a 40 man raid. Oh, how we laughed... <ahem>

Or it could be creating this application form... It's epic ;)

I can tell you what it wasn’t… It wasn’t looting the axe from Karazhan theatre event. Only bloody time I saw it drop was when I took my priest to help out with healing ;)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Stuff

Do you know an existing member of the Highland Warriors? If so, who: for how long, and how do you know them?
Where do I start? Wind for like 87428374687 years, Hekate for almost as long (and he was an old man then), Beej, Night, Eilly, Flo, Vis, Office, Sky, Boggle, Myrelle, Nicky… Probably forgot at least one person

Why do you want to join the Highland Warriors?
After a lot of consideration, I left in search of pastures new: in an effort to revitalise my interest in the game, I thought I would try a spot of RP. Been on Moonglade since I left at the start of May, joined a lovely guild with some lovely people… Reminded me a lot of the Highland warriors. It’s been good fun, although only I could join an RP server and find a non-RP guild ;)

They’re a good bunch and have been very welcoming, but I miss the Highland Warriors: it’s been my wow home for many years and I miss the old girl Thunderhorn, and the familiar faces of the guild. I’m under no illusions that the expac has not delivered as hoped, the game play is pedestrian and garrisons are terrible, with it’s not so stealthy neediness to make you farm, farm and then farm some more. Despite once owning a pair of dungerees and a hoe, I’ve never been much of a farm girl. I know that other players have likely felt the same, and have abandoned play until the new expac. I’m not quite ready to give up on WoW tho, after 10 years it doesn’t feel right to walk away yet.

It’s kind of HW or bust for me now… I've tried grass on the other side, and it's not necessarily greener. Whatever Blizz throws at us, I'd like to see it with old friends. I can’t pretend I’ll be online every night, but work permitting I’ll be able to manage a few and be available to help out in whatever capacity is needed.

How will you improve yourself as a Highland Warrior?
Bug Eillena for tips, remind/research on elitist jerks, Restokin, Icy Veins…

Anything extra you would like to tell us about yourself?
Erm… I’m the Head of Maths in a secondary school in the city, I have two young children who are currently being indoctrinated into the Star Wars universe, as I try to convince them that Leia is the only “Disney Princess” worthy of their love and respect.

As any parent with young children, food is one of my only vices and whole evenings are built around it. Although, like any true northerner, it’s all about the meat and two veg, preferably with gravy. Although it has to be with cornflour these days, as like most people it seems, gluten is my worst enemy  I miss tiger bread, a lot.

I love nerdy books, films and TV series… Although it’s mainly the latter these days, as reading is almost guaranteed to send me to sleep. I love The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, and, like all wow players, I’m a big fan of LoTR and The Hobbit films: Peter Jackson did a wonderful job bringing them to the big screen. Hoping for a similar treatment of “The Name of the Wind”

I also love wine.

OMG Els so glad that you have decided to come back to us :p

We have missed you here! Feels a bit weird doing an application for you. You already know all the rules and how we run, so I know you are aware with regards to your alts.

Also the processing fee has gone up to 150k :p

Hehe, 150k, eh? That's some inflation. Still, with the interest on what you owe me, I'd call it quits? ;)

In terms of my alts, truth be told, they're still on Thunderhorn. Possibly still in guild? I've only made a baby feral Druid who I'll either delete or move over, depending on her level.
