Play Style

What sort of position would suit you best in terms of what you are looking for from a guild (delete as appropriate)

Social/Backup Raider: I am willing to spot fill when needed, but I understand a place is not guaranteed

Which of the following days each week are you available?

Monday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Tuesday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Wednesday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Thursday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Friday 21:00 CET until 00:00
Saturday 20:30 CET until 00:00
Sunday 20:30 CET until 23.30

Why did you chose your current spec? because i tend to stay alive more often then not when I'm tanking/healing. also because dk tank's style of tanking is quite unique and i believe it is the most useful.(i know nothing about monk tank)

Tell us a little about your spell/shot/melee rotation & general play style in a raid/dungeon/group situation. (You may link stats websites such as WoL in support of your application)
instead of rotations I take the following priorities:
For blood: Death Strike(at max rank) > Rune Strike > Blood Strike > Death Strike > Blood Boil = Refresh dots
For AoE blood boil sits at top of everything, so would prolly be a quick
Death and Decay -> refresh buffs -> Pestilence -> spam blood boil till the end of the fight
In most fights you can use ur absorbs at max rank just before taking a big hit, which makes the priority infinitely more complicated. Also if your offtank you can stack up your absorbs up to absurd amounts like 1000000 which i have personally reached

Choose THREE of the following which best describes your usual WOW week. Delete those which do NOT apply

- Looking for group instances
- Inguild only group instancing
- Spamming Looking for Raid
- Levelling professions to max
- Social questing with guild mates
- Solo questing
- Looking at the scenary/exploring
- Levelling existing alts
- Levelling a panda ------- (now why would i do that, those guys are so fat)
- Challenge mode LFG
- Challenge Mode in-guild groups
- Acheivements
- Auction House profiteering

Which of your achievements in WoW are you the most proud of, and why?
Heroic: The Twilight Destroyer 10-Man
I worked really hard for this and we were the first or second on server to get it, so that was exciting.

Other Stuff

Do you know an existing member of the Highland Warriors? If so, who: for how long, and how do you know them?

Why do you want to join the Highland Warriors? I am just returning to the game and thought I can fill a few spots in raids while waiting for the expansion

How will you improve yourself as a Highland Warrior? Will have to start learning about panda's i guess :S

Anything extra you would like to tell us about yourself? I like cookies

P.S. Sorry there seems to be two posts, I only meant to post one

Hi Diablade,

I removed your second post and also the {Trial] bit as that only goes on to people we offered trials too.

You application is a little underwhelming if i am honest, lacks detail and information. Looking at your chracters you seem to have quite a few dotted all over the place. The first thing is we are not an alt guild therefore if you were to be offered a trial all alts will need to be moved to the guild.

Also you seem to have been with some seriously hardcore guilds and more worryingly a vast amount of guilds spread over all your characters. Just looking at your DK's guild History (which is below) you seem to have spent time SA which from what i remember were a very hardcore and progressive guild, also to add your priest is in Supreme Legion which is another fast progressive guild. So my question is what exactly do you want from Highland Warriors?

Also Ardvan sounds familiar to me is this yours too http://www.warcraftrealms.com/charsheet/77492625? Was Ardvan the original name of your Druid? It seems to fit in line with all your Guilds too. And some characters i cannot even find.

Thank you very much! I don't mean to spam your forums it just happend :(
I would personally prefer to have my alts with me in the guild too, it is only right that this is so. it is much more sociable that way. yes I have an old friend from Supreme Legion who graciously invited me over to help. I haven't played this game for three/four years or so... but thankfully I had plenty of help to get back on my feet.

***Also you seem to have been with some seriously hardcore guilds and more worryingly a vast amount of guilds spread over all your characters. So my question is what exactly do you want from Highland Warriors?

If you think you aren't hardcore raiders then you don't think very highly of yourselves ^_^ . Yes my druid was in SA and we were absolute tryhards at the time(it is now ardie from killrog), but we weren't uber hardcore. In fact I was trying hard to keep my friend in the raids at the time which ended in my eventual kicking (Aelektra - Killrog). I still think it is unfair that Shadow Priest's get so much criticism for lack of dps when that class has issues with damage dealing(if you dont believe me heres a link http://www.noxxic.com/wow/dps-rankings). The raidleader should almost always accept that a perfectly playing shadow priest will do 20-30% less damage no matter what. At the time I was too immature to follow my mind, and I followed my heart, and I shouted and cursed at the injustice that noone else saw. I learnt about hardcore raiding when I started looking for actual hardcore raiding guilds and there is plenty of them in other realms. So that's when I played with my paladin (Ardavan - Kilrogg) farming heroics etc in Sunstrider for a short time. I absolutely loved playing Paladin, so(ooooo) influential in fights; one misstep and all would be lost, yes lots of fun. But there is no reason why this can't happen in any other guild, its just the idea of a number of people playing together for the same goal, all of whom can make mistakes, all of whom can help resolve those mistakes. However the toll you pay is much higher in more hardcore contents, so I guess you learn to make less mistakes. and this was the number one priority in those guilds, not whos best geared or whos most experienced, but who makes less mistakes. we even had a laughing stock poll where when someone messed up more than 3 times in one go, we'd put them out of the raid and throw snowballs at them. But you gotta understand the atmosphere there was awesome so it wasn't so bad lol. The raidleader was so fun and we were never bored while waiting etc. He is one of the reasons why I doubt I'll ever make a good raid leader. Thankfully I never got snowballed because we cleared twilight vanquisher after i made 2 mistakes in a row :D. my hardcore raiding run didn't last for long as I wanted to try pvp soon after we cleared all woltk content, and I had a lack of time during university time. I really disliked the fact that PVP was so imbalanced in WOW. even now the tournaments are almost always dominated by locks or resto druids. So i played league of legends for a couple of years now and follow the professional scene. Another advantage to LoL was that I could just fit it in to whichever free time I had, and didn't have to allocate free time I didn't have for it like WoW. LoL and Wow both are serious contenders for best games I ever played. Even though the way we play them is seemingly different, I personally see a huge number of overlap between spells and item builds in that game and in wow. Now I have finished my university course and have more free time so I guess I have room for my old hobby and I miss it very much.

Ok thats some information about you, but it still doesn't tell me what you want you are hoping to get from Highland Warriors? I think the definition of hardcore is a bit ambiguous and everyone seems to have a different perspective of what it is. So from our point of view we are a guild that looks at people first and players second. We do not have a policy of person X cannot raid because their skill level is too low, in fact as long as people have a good attitude and want to learn they are always welcomed to raid with us.

Hardcore is time dedicated and attitude that goes with that for me personally. For us we are a more social raiding guild where mistakes are made, and silly wipes happen, and in the end we work as a team to overcome these issues. Yes we take our raiding seriously, people have to be well prepared, gemmed, enchanted correctly and food, flasks, knowing tacs etc are all pre-requisits and as long as anyone who wants to raid can as long as they follow these rules and have a postive and eager attiture then they are welcomed to raid with us.

I am slightly worried that from where yo have come from and the expectation you have grown accustomed to might fall short in what you find here and the last thing we would want would be to have someone that is going to lose their temper because some silly mistakes has happened for the umpteenth time, our number one goal is to preserve our community and the social atmosphere within the guild, so i am sure you can understand our protectivness over this.

Well my application was made as a social raider, so I will be trying to gear up my dk (or any other character that you guys think might be useful) and meanwhile you can add me to the raids when you think I would fit in. That way we can help each other. It is great that you look at people first because wow for me is more of a relaxing and enjoying game than a "lets be elites game"; for that I have LoL.

I also agree that giving people a chance to raid is important, even if their understanding of the game mechanics isn't as important. But I do dislike unfair judgments made by raid leaders etc... I don't speak up about it because I prefer not be confronting, but I do speak my mind when requested to do so and I will be impartial.

That is fair, once we accept that people make mistakes, we should do everything possible to allow for mistakes to be made. I often tried to point out things that could be done easier in the past, I hope to do this as well by preparation for the encounters. For example I have fully regemmed and reforged my priest three times now, because my friend from Supreme Legion pointed out that I was gemming wrong, and I was too sure of myself to look it up first.

5 years ago I had 4 really close friends on WoW, 3 of them have stopped playing and I have no contact with anymore, and the one remaining one I have almost lost touch with. Sure I cannot make those friendships work again but maybe I can find new ones. Please do not be so hasteful in judging my intentions.
