No aspirations of raid leading any more. My work schedule means that I wouldn't be able to dedicate the time needed for organising and leading.

Number of Reputations @ Exalted: 60

Play Style
Since TBC I have been a focussed DPS player, emphasis on heavy damage while avoiding the bad stuff that makes the healers job harder. Being a team player in raids is important to me thus if it's focusing on the boss or kiting adds around for a whole fight it makes little difference.

What sort of position would suit you best in terms of what you are looking for from a guild (delete as appropriate)

Core Raider: I must raid 2 times a week, at least
Flexible Raider: I will sign to any events Im able to attend but wont ragequit if I dont make the group
Social/Backup Raider: I am willing to spot fill when needed, but I understand a place is not guaranteed
Social: I have no current aspirations to raid

Which of the following days each week are you available? Please see the top post for details of our current raid days.

Monday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Tuesday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Wednesday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Thursday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Friday 21:00 CET until 00:00
Saturday 20:30 CET until 00:00
Sunday 20:30 CET until 23.30

Why did you chose your current spec?
Since creating a DK back in wrath I have always enjoyed the semi-ranged utility of frost. It hasn't always been the highest dps spec of the three originals (two now obviously) but the mobility that HB affords and the aforementioned utility for kiting etc has meant that it has always been an interesting spec to play.

Tell us a little about your spell/shot/melee rotation & general play style in a raid/dungeon/group situation. (You may link stats websites such as WoL in support of your application)
When you talk about this expansion (MOP) then my experience is limited. I haven't been able to get in to this expansion at all. I can't put my finger on why but it just hasn't appealed. I am in the beta for WoD however, aand I am looking to get up to speed before the expansion hits.

Previously I raided from TBC through Cataclysm and there are still logs up from Cata. - Shannox (Cata) - Rhyolith - Balaroc

Choose THREE of the following which best describes your usual WOW week. Delete those which do NOT apply

- Inguild only group instancing
- Levelling professions to max
- Social questing with guild mates

Which of your achievements in WoW are you the most proud of, and why? *This does not have to be a recognised Blizzard acheivement - it could just be the slog of levelling from 1 - 85, or looting an item you have farmed for a long time*

I solo'd the lvl 50 Hunter quest back in the day, venturing in to Sunken Temple using a combination of feign death and good fortune to crack it. My Champion of the Naaru title is still pretty special to me as well.

Other Stuff

Do you know an existing member of the Highland Warriors? If so, who: for how long, and how do you know them?

With people name changing and my extended Hiatus, no one within the roster springs out. I did use to know Hopegiver who was with you (not sure if he still is).

Why do you want to join the Highland Warriors?

I am hoping to get back in to the game , albeit in a more casual role than previously. I am looking for a guild where having fun and enjoying your time in game is important.
Knowing that HW is a guild with a good leadership, and clear goals that would seem to fit in with mine is important to me.
I am going to be totally honest here and mention that it is not certain that I will return to the game. Work can be demanding and I am not certain that I can do both. If I do though I would like it to be in a guild that is obviously stable and well respected.
I am still a bit old school in regards to understanding and cultivating a server reputation.

How will you improve yourself as a Highland Warrior?

That's a difficult question, getting back in to team play where I am not the focus as raid leader would be a boon to me at this point. It may help me to realise when to shut up ;)

Anything extra you would like to tell us about yourself?

I'm a pretty friendly guy at this point that's alwayts likelyy to be involved, either in game or on Vent.
I am pretty opinionated as some may be able to tell you. However, I have mellowed over the years and now tend to keep potentially abrasive comments out of game.

Hey Kerrina

Thanks for your application.

Before we move any further with this I just picked out the below. If you are still unsure if you are going to be returning to the game then perhaps this would not be the best time to apply to the guild as offering a spot to someone that may or may not play will be a little bit of a waste of time. So i would think it would be best to put this on hold until you decide if you are coming back to play or not, as we do not house toons in the guild for long periods of time anyway, and you were to join then disappear you would be removed.

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply, I totally understand your stance and would not expect any different.
I would say in my defence however, that by putting that paragraph in my application that it was a show of transparency on my part.

Having being a leader of a guild for a long time I recognise the frustrations of people who use the guild system just to "house" characters or who go missing for months on end without word. As I have an empty guild myself, I can honestly say if that was my intention then my Characters would still be sitting in Slash Dance.

With that in mind, by applying to a guild it is generally more likely that I will be returning to the game, at least casually.

If you still wish to wait then I can accept and respect that decision.

Thanks for your reply. Your honesty is something we greatly appreciate and does count to positive cookies towards you :p

I am sure you can appreciate that our community thrives on the activenss of its members. At the same time its not for me to tell you that you have to play to become a member, after all its your time and you do what you want with it.

However I am happy to proceed with the application on the basis of your intentions is to play and if anything changes if you can let us know? I think that seems fair?

That sounds completely fair and if indeed you need more information then I will be happy to oblige.

No worries, being busy is something I totally understand :)

As far as my alts go, I'm not a altaholic so there wouldn't be any issue with them being in the guild as well. My hunter hasn't been touched since just after Wrath and my rogue was only a PvP character that again hasn't been touched.
The only one I wouldn't bring in the my 30ish druid who is GL of my ex-guild. There's a few bits in the bank that I wouldn't want to lose. would it be an issue not bringing her in?

No there wouldn't be an issues many members have an alt that is out of the guild to hold a guild bank of sorts for the extra bank space so that wouldn't be a problem at all.

With regards to your Dk what kind of places/sites do you use to keep up to date on the latest information regarding yoru DK?

As you have probably ascertained by looking at my DK profile, keeping up with changes for and during MoP hasn't been a priority for me.

I have also found that through the different expansions, the sites that give the "best" advice / theorycraft change.
Basic rotations or priority lists change little on any of the sites that are available. Simcraft is still used, I believe for stat-weights.

My main resource has always been my own experience. Being in the work that I am has led my thought process to be quite analytical. Spending time at the dummy, trying different priority skills and bringing those in to a raid environment where they can be quickly assessed for suitability before being tweaked or reverted.

I have never expected to be carried and if someone within the guild has thoughts or ideas then bouncing topics off each other or as a group to ensure success is more important than any personal belief that my own way is always right.

We do not have an issue with that as long as you can justify why you made those choices and have the data back it up. If you're pulling the numbers its never an issue :-)

Ok i do not have anything to add on the forums give me a poke in game for a chat when your next around and we will go from there.

Thanks for the clarification.
I think the couple of logs I posted previous to my self imposed break show that I can put out the numbers required. I also realise the game has changed since those times and the relevance of those is limited.

I will pop online over the next day or two for a chat, it will help give you a better perspective of my personality and help decide if I will be a "fit" for Highland Warriors
