About You

Age: Very old at 43

Gender: Male

Country & Region: United Kingdom, Hertfordshire

Your Character

Character Name Igram, Human

Level: 90

Class: Mage

Spec: Frost

Played Time: Not very long. I deleted my character back in 2007 to make sure I wouldn’t re-sub at that time so I have created him again on the same server I started out on. MY original char had over 200 days played back then.

Achievement Points: Around 9500

Is this your main character? Yes

I have a DK alt, Niknakk, Worgen, level 90, not in any guild. I use it as a bank character for now. I transferred it from another server so I had some gold on Thunderhorn. Used to be called Equation and prior to that was called Distress

I played the DK (Distress) on Silvermoon server during WOTLK and some friends decided for cataclysm to change to horde and move server so I went with them. The name was taken on Kilrogg so I changed the name to Equation. I didn’t play very long into Cataclysm.

I joined a guild way back in 2005 when I was leveling my mage. I didn’t even remember the name until I checked the link you provided, they were called The Choice of Destiny, I don’t think there was any reason why I joined that guild but that I probably ran a dungeon with a player in the guild and they invited me. I really don’t remember.

I do see from the link that I took me a very long time to get to 60, Character created in May 2005, level 60 in October 2005. That is insane when you compare leveling speed now. I was in a couple more guilds while leveling again nothing to suggest why I was in them.

I do remember joining The Vipers I knew from the forums that they were raiding and I knew that was something I wanted to try. I was accepted by them and not long after went into Molten Core for the first time with another guild that they teamed up with to get the required 40 people for the raid. That guild was called Divine Insane Entities.

I continued to raid with The Vipers and DIE, when the guild leader of DIE a lovely lady called Celestial asked me if I would like to join them as they were building the guild up to be able to do 40 man raids on their own. As I spent a lof of time on their TS server I agreed and joined them.

Not to long later Cel asked me if I would step up and be the Mage class leader, which I accepted. All was going great for close to a year when Cel decided she was finished with playing and a lot of people left the guild. Myself and most of the core members that were left decided to create a new guild and get ready for TBC release.

It was decided that I would run the guild along with my wife who played as much as I did back then, and Resistance is Futile was born. I was in that guild as guild leader and raid leader until I stopped playing in 2007 and still have some great friends from then and still talk to on facebook with a bunch of them.

I was talked into coming back to the game from a friend of mine that played and I wasn’t really going to play much just very casually so I created an Elemental Shaman as his guild had lots of mages, i played on his server Silvermoon. And joined his guild called Goosfraba and ended up raiding fairly hardcore until WOTLK, 5-6 nights a week on mains and the off nights would be alt raiding. We cleared everything in TBC and WOTLK. Then people started drifting away from the game so I also did the same. When another friend asked me to come back as they were going to go horde for cataclysm I transferred my DK alt leveled him up but got bored very quickly as It wasn’t really the same for me.

Now I am back again with new enthusiasm on my original server with my original character (mark II). The guild I am in now is just the first level 25 guild that spammed me an invite, as I wanted to get the increased XP boost for leveling faster.

Other guilds you are applying for: None

Please include details of levels and specialism, where appropriate.

Primary 1: Enchanting 600
Primary 2: Tailoring 600

First Aid: 600
Cooking: 500 and something
List any special or rare recipes: None I used to have a bunch on my original character but sadly not anymore.

Raiding Experience
Please list your progression and experience of the following raid instances, and indicate if your experience is predominently guild or PuG, along with 10/25 man, LFR or heroic experience:

I have zero raiding experience in Mists, I have a lot form Vanilla, TBC, WOTLK and a little from Cata

Do you have any aspirations to become a Raid Leader? Please list any relevant previous experience

I have been a raid leader in the past, both with my own guild and some in Goosfraba. I am unsure if I would have the time that I used to have to fulfill that role and make my char as good as I can be. I am always happy to help out though so never say never

Number of Reputations @ Exalted:

Again being a new character just Stormwind and i just finished the cloud serpent one to exalted. I will be working on the ones that I need and once the new expansion is released I always get the essential reputations to exalted.

Play Style

What sort of position would suit you best in terms of what you are looking for from a guild (delete as appropriate)

I think somewhere around these two options.

Flexible Raider: I will sign to any events Im able to attend but wont ragequit if I dont make the group

Social/Backup Raider: I am willing to spot fill when needed, but I understand a place is not guaranteed

I used to play this game to raid, it was all I did anything I did in the game was to get ready for a raid, be that running dungeons for gear or raising rep for gear, now I have a bit less time than I did then as I am working and at university but I do like raiding. If I get to go on a raid then that’s great I will do my best and have fun, if not then so be it but I would like to aim for a raiding spot in the new expansion.

Which of the following days each week are you available? Please see the top post for details of our current raid days.

I am usually around most evenings maybe not all but most

Monday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Tuesday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Wednesday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Thursday 21:00 CET until 23.30
Friday 21:00 CET until 00:00
Saturday 20:30 CET until 00:00
Sunday 20:30 CET until 23.30

Why did you chose your current spec?

At my gear levels I cant move to Arcane or Fire so Frost is the best option for me for now.

Tell us a little about your spell/shot/melee rotation & general play style in a raid/dungeon/group situation. (You may link stats websites such as WoL in support of your application)

I haven’t done any raiding yet but from what I have read and know about the class I would do something along these lines.

Refresh my living bomb on the target/s, Casting frozen orb whenever cooldown is up, being aware of other problems that aoe could cause. Making sure I cast evocation every 60 seconds to get my 15% increase in spell damage. Casting frostbolt until 2 fingers of frost charges then ice lance, frostfire bolt when brain freeze procs and generally watching the surrounding and knowing about boss mechanics so I can GTFO of fire

Choose THREE of the following which best describes your usual WOW week. Delete those which do NOT apply

- Looking for group instances
- Social questing/Rep Grinding/Dungeons with guild mates
- Solo questing

I amended the guild one a little but right now this is what I will mostly be doing once I am in a guild that is.

Which of your achievements in WoW are you the most proud of, and why? *This does not have to be a recognised Blizzard acheivement - it could just be the slog of levelling from 1 - 85, or looting an item you have farmed for a long time*

I think killing Muru in Sunwell before the hefty nerf. We spent a few weeks and many hours wiping and wiping on that sucker and the moment he died the guild exploded, was a great feeling.

Other Stuff

Do you know an existing member of the Highland Warriors? If so, who: for how long, and how do you know them? I don’t believe I do, however after chatting to Nightmares last night it seems he joined my guild (RiF) after I had handed it over to others, so I feel a bond with him already :P

Why do you want to join the Highland Warriors?

I have been looking and reading the guild forums trying to find a friendly and social guild which also raids a little, I have seen quite a few on there, but Highland Warriors stood out as it has been around for a while and some of the players are from when I used to play on this server so I feel like it would be a great home for me to make new friends.

How will you improve yourself as a Highland Warrior?
The same way I always improve myself at this game, read and learn about my class and other classes, learn about boss mechanics, be friendly to other people and hope that I can provide some insight and input on things that crop up.

Anything extra you would like to tell us about yourself?

I want to apologize about the length of this application, having played from vanilla there is a lot that I needed to include. And just say thanks for taking the time to read it and for considering me as someone that may find a home with you all.

*There may be typos I checked and sorted the ones I found but meh there you go.

Hey Igram,

Thanks for the app its very detailed and we like details here. Wind (tthe GM) was quite explicit to say that apps can never be too long, so no need to apologise.

We had a little chat a couple of days ago and got the general gist of what you were looking for and i would like to thin kthat you would fit in well here in Highland Warriors. Just rgarding your alt I am not sure if you are aware but any played alts need to be in guild on Thunderhorn (except bank characters) would you be looking to bring your DK to HW?

When we spoke you mentioned (and on your app) about wanting to raid in WoD to be honest with how the raiding setup is done with the new flexibility in numbers (exculding mythic) we would be able to offer you raiding, i thin this new change is actually something very good for the game.

Apart from that i think i covered a lot withing our chat (no voice comms and general stuff about the guild), oh just one other question what sites do you use to keep up to date with your magtalents/stats etc?

Not a problem bringing my alt into the guild, haven't got round to setting up my interface for him or anything yet but I will do. I use the wow forums a little, but they tend to be quite lacking so icy veins and I used to be a avid reader of elitist jerks when i was raiding so there also.
