Previous guilds: Please list all the guilds you have been a member of, you may wish use http://www.warcraftrealms.com/charhistory.php as a starting point, especially where there have been name, faction and realm changes. We will check this, don't leave anything out or it reflects negatively on your application
I think will just tell my story.
I started playing a warlock named Maukekongen in mid Naxx-times Wotlk. I leveled with one of my IRL friends on Haomarush Alliance, where I had several other friends already level 80.
Shortly before I got to 80 most of my friends had gone tired of endless Naxx runs and decided to quit, and my leveling buddy didnt fancy playing as much as I did.
I got into the raiding scene in a guild called "Bunn Leisure Alliance" where the raid leader eventually grew tired of a alot of the core people never showing up so we started a new guild called "U R Not Repaired".
We cleared naxx 10man and did a few bosses in Ulduar before ToC came out. After that several of the raiders went on to better guilds, so I did aswell. Played for a short time in Afterlife where we cleared 5/5 10man HC and 4/5 25man HC.
Afterlife fell apart shortly before ICC came out, and now faction transfer was released.
My real life friends had leveled Horde alts, so i transfered over to Laughing Skull with them and we started doing hc's to gear up for ICC. We slowly but steadily cleared ICC on 10man normal, where we achieved realm 2nd LK. And then it fell apart again. A few of my friends and me joined Nordic Reign in the middle of our runs to do 25man ICC. I played in this guild for over a year during ICC hc progress, and shortly after I joined I started taking the raid leader role. We got 11/12 hc bosses on 25man and cleared 10man shortly after the 5.0 patch came out.
I do believe that we could have done it before, but ICC was taxing on alot of people so the core raiders not always showed up for 10man.

When Cata came out i took a week of work and leveled my druid(at that time named Totomfir) to level 85 and had a really hardcore friend over, and got to see his start on T11 raids. This gave me a taste of what it would be like raiding in a top500 guild. My friend reccomended my to try out, but I had
duties to attend in my current guild. Beeing their raid leader for over a year it was not an easy decision to make, but I tranfered over to Skullcrusher. With Project Mayhem I cleared all of T11 hc, with the exception of Sinestra as realm first. The guild went down to 10man after T11 due to their GM taking a break
and several other core people quitting. It was at this time i stopped playing hardcore and started my journey as a more casual and social player.

I tranfered back to Nordic Reign where I attended a few runs as a backup and just relaxed, did a few LFR's and leveled som other chars. When MoP came out I think I leveled my paladin first, then my druid. Stopped playing at this time, and did not come back untill the SoO patch.
I started a fresh DK to see how it was to "be on my own", and rely as much as possible on only 1 char. This is some of the reasons why my professions are lackluster at best.

Do you have any aspirations to become a Raid Leader? Please list any relevant previous experience
No, at the moment I just want to relax and have fun. I also lack the experience with the current expansion so I dont feel comfortable doing it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reputation
Number of Reputations @ Exalted:
On my DK, 1. I do have over 35 combined.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Play Style

What sort of position would suit you best in terms of what you are looking for from a guild (delete as appropriate)

Flexible Raider: I will sign to any events Im able to attend but wont ragequit if I dont make the group
Social/Backup Raider: I am willing to spot fill when needed, but I understand a place is not guaranteed

Please be aware that I currently am missing 2 main professions, but mining is comparable to other due to its stam-buff.

Which of the following days each week are you available? Please see the top post for details of our current raid days.

I play when I have time, and will sign up for raids as often as I can. One week I might have the whole week available the next I might have other commitments on some days.
The only thing that can affect me is that I'm currently a backup on a local quiz-team. They have need for me aprox 1 thuesday a month. If this is not good enough please let me know.

Why did you chose your current spec?
I wanted the solo survivability from Blood, so that I could challenge myself along the line with previous tiers. It is also a added bonus of having the safety of pulling a shit tonne and not die when I'm questing.
I also wanted to tank since I really enjoy the tank aspect of the game, and blood was the only option taking into consideration on previous reason. Altho I think my favorite tank spec is without a doubt prot warrior, the solo aspect kinda sucks for them in comparison.

I havent tried out my oS (currently frost) that much, so it's safe to say I'm not good at it. Press the buttons that light up ^^

Tell us a little about your spell/shot/melee rotation & general play style in a raid/dungeon/group situation. (You may link stats websites such as WoL in support of your application)

Tanking as a blood DK revoles alot around trying to maximise your own survivability, even in dungeons/raids. Maintaining deseases increases the effect of some spells so that has a high priority.
To make it as easy as possible i would think the following prio would suffice to start with:
Deseases Up
Blood runes on either Heart Strike (less then 4 targets) or Blood Boil (4+ targets)
Using F/U or Death Runes on Death Strike when most valuable.
Use procs and CD's when most valuable. DRW when pulling to help with treath is an option, but it can also be used as a minor defensive CD due to its increase in parry. It also matters when to use bigger defensive CD, but it differs from fight to fight.

I use an addon to see uptime on Bone Shield, along with how many stacks I have available. Also have an addon to easier see how much my DS would heal for, a long with how many stacks of Scent of Blood i have.

Choose THREE of the following which best describes your usual WOW week. Delete those which do NOT apply

- Spamming Looking for Raid
- Levelling professions to max
- Solo questing

I think I'm going to go for Pandaria Loremaster. It's a nice gold income along with some lore, wich I like.
Need to level professions, since I currently dont have them maxed out.
Doing LFR for my Legendary Cape and trying to gear up.

Which of your achievements in WoW are you the most proud of, and why? *This does not have to be a recognised Blizzard acheivement - it could just be the slog of levelling from 1 - 85, or looting an item you have farmed for a long time*

When my real life friends and me got down LK. One of my fondest memories, even outside WoW.
Realm First Nefarian, Cho'Gall and Ascendant Council. Hc of course.
I did the druid Flight Form quest before it got out of the game, along with Raven Lord while it was still a druid only mount.

Other Stuff

Do you know an existing member of the Highland Warriors? If so, who: for how long, and how do you know them?

No

Why do you want to join the Highland Warriors?
I'm looking for a guild that likes to raid, but I dont want to commit too heavily into set days of raiding. This is also the reason why I'm not applying as a raider.
I've looked through the forums today and the guild it self looks like it invest alot into its members. Altho I probably wont do it, the fact that you have a guild challenge looks really awesome. And you have your own comic!

How will you improve yourself as a Highland Warrior?
I think at the start I would be the outsider, doing stuff on his own but ready to jump in on a moment notice. I would probably discuss a wide viarity of subects in guild chat, and I like to think that over my years of playing this game I have picked up a fair good amount of knowledge. I enjoy watching a lot of kill videos from famous guilds, and at the same time I try to look at what they are doing and figure out why. This also gives me a slight edge when I look at guides for encounters, and even tho I havent played for half of MoP I still watched guides. Fatboss TV is one of my subscribed channels on YT and I watch them every now and then, so I keep up to date with tactics. That does not mean I know every fight in and out though.

Anything extra you would like to tell us about yourself?
I'm a 26 year old guy, educated within IT and work full time as it aswell.

I will double check alot of stuff when I get home from work if something is not satisfactory. I know i'm missing combined played time, but I would guess about 200 days.
EDIT: I have 94 days played on my warlock and 89 days played on my druid.
I also took the liberty or free-writing some stuff, but if this is grounds for dismissal I will rewrite it.
Please be aware I will not be able to transfer until earliest on thursday 12th.

Also would like to thank Nightmares for responding on my thread on official forums.

I do have 2 questions back at you: How often do you guys to transmog runs of old instances? Be it WotLK, Cata or previous tiers on MoP content.
And what would you say is the average amount of people logged on?

Hi Tasjl

Firstly it must be said it's a fantastic app lots of time and detail in it.

When I read your post on the PVE forums it looked like you would be the type of player that would fit in here.

To answer you question first with regards to doing old content and transmorg runs and how often we do them.

We do not have scheduled events for this but these are done by our members and there are plenty of members that want to do this. But for example last night there was some members that went to do old HC cata stuff. Generally on off nights people do whatever they like. I want to be honest and not promise that we do old content every week but on occasion we so have them.

But what we do have is a good social atmosphere and great helpful members if not a little crazy :-)

You mentioned about doing quiz once a month that's not a problem, as I mentioned in your post we have no pressure on sign ups for our members. And as long as the necessary requirements are met all members are allowed to raid.

You were so detailed In your history I don't really have anything to ask hehe

Out of interest what sites do you use to keep up to date with your DK?

most nights theres anything from around 12 to 30. Sometimes more, sometimes less but it averages around that. Feel free to check this yourself by doing /who highland warriors each time you login to TH (make an alt if you dont have one). If you check the Priest application from Neph you can see shes done this already and commented on it.

For the old runs, we do have people running or soloing them fairly often. Its not usually a scheduled thing but more spur of the moment. That said, theres currently group plans to do Old raid achievements for those that still need, this is ran by a few guild members with anyone free to join.
As Night said, we cant promise events, stuff like this is more for the guild to organise but they do happen fairly often, if not weekly.

To be highly certain of something, with a very low order of evidence, or in contradiction to a mountain of evidence, is a sign that something is wrong with your mind.

Yeah, I see the value of spending the extra time it takes to make a good application. It shows clearer my intentions wich in turn makes it easier for you to say if this truly is the right place to be.

And to both you and Windavell I thank for better describing your transmog-runs, and to me it seems like it's a pretty good fit. And if someone else dont start a run I would guess a lot of other people are interrested if someone steps up and start a group for it!

When it comes to DK theory etc I started out with icy veins and filled out with mmo-champs class forums. For now this fills my need, but I'm sure there are other sites out there that gives a much more detailed views of the intricacies of the class. I have not looked for them, yet.

I have one question that I forgot to ask in my first post, and that was regarding alts. I saw that some were asked if they were willing to transfer all their alts over. Just to let you guys know I will not transfer all my alts over. Some of them are not particulary used,if at all, and some are basicly bank alts stationed in SW and would I be required to transfer them all it would be a too costly affaire.
In time I might transfer some over if I feel the urge to play them again.

That's not a problem, we do not expect everything to be transferred over especially with the cost involved.

All we ask that your main playing time will be on your DK
