Raiding Experience
Cataclysm: DS 7/8 hc - until Mists-prepatch, 30% nerf

MoP: Mogu'shan Vaults - no experience (apart from LFR which is like a training dummy)
MoP: Heart of Fear - no experience (apart from LFR which is like a training dummy)
MoP: Terrace of Endless Spring - no experience (apart from LFR which is like a training dummy)
MoP: Throne of Thunder - LFR - I have watched all the fatboss guides and read the dungeon journal to understand the fights, which then makes the LFR a bit more useful.

I joined wow in late cata and after hiting 90 with my rogue I immidietelly joined a raiding guild called the Wolves of Times, who were progressing DS. They were a great bunch of players and people. However, after clearing the normal difficulty they have decided they do not wish to go on - the guild has been dead for more than a year now.
Afterwards, I joined the Darkness descends who at that time worked on the early heroic DS bosses. With them I stayed about two months and due to their individual player skill (and the 30% nerf :) ) we managed to clear 6/8 hardmode before the attendance boss hit us during the summer break.
The last raiding guild was Phalanx, which are still actively raiding, and I joined them with my protection warrior during the summer. Though hated by most, I enjoyed every week in DS with those guys (and girls) and we pulled 7/8 before the Mists pre-patch entered the servers.
I spent in DS more than half a year (I'd say every week) and never been bored.
Afterwards, I left for the UK for studies and only came a few months ago, finished leveling and started gearing my priest, as I had not been lucky to join a raiding guild as a melee dps.
For the past month I have only been running LFR,

Do you have any aspirations to become a Raid Leader? Please list any relevant previous experience - nope

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reputation
I'm not really into reputations and achievements. If it's needed for raiding and gear I will gladly grind reputation (e.g. exalted with the black prince) and do dailies but as far as mounts, pets and achievements go... not my kind of thing.
Number of Reputations @ Exalted: 3

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Play Style

I would like to join as: Social/Backup Raider - I am willing to spot fill when needed, but I understand a place is not guaranteed.

Which of the following days each week are you available? Please see the top post for details of our current raid days. - Any two of those days - but only two.

Monday 21:00 CET until 00:00
Tuesday 21:00 CET until 00:00
Wednesday 21:00 CET until 00:00
Thursday 21:00 CET until 00:00
Friday 21:00 CET until 00:00
Saturday 20:30 CET until 00:00
Sunday 20:30 CET until 00:00

Why did you chose your current spec?

I had very litte experience with ranged dps classes when I chose to switch from my rogue. It was a bit of a blind shot really.

Tell us a little about your spell/shot/melee rotation & general play style in a raid/dungeon/group situation. (You may link stats websites such as WoL in support of your application)

Not sure I have a game style or at least I am not aware of that. I have always been enjoying being one of the top dps and being a sorf of "dps whore" but I very well realise that it's not the priority in most cases as downing the adds and following the mechanics of the fight is crucial for success.

I enjoy following the theorycrafting news on my class and generally seeing myself - as well as the group - getting better. Thats's why I raid - to progress - does not matter if it's normal or heroic progression but I like to see the improvement of the whole group.

Pre-pull (which is rare in lfr) - potion, halo, mind blast
In combat - VT, SW:P, MF till three orbs,
on three orbs - refresh dots, DP, MF (insanity)
on execute phase - randomly pushing the buttons

http://www.worldoflogs.com/guilds/230369/

Choose THREE of the following which best describes your priorities for the expansion. Delete those which do NOT apply

- raiding
- raiding
- raiding

- every other aspect of the game I do is just to support the fact that I can raid when the next patch hits the servers

Which of your achievements in WoW are you the most proud of, and why? *This does not have to be a recognised Blizzard acheivement - it could just be the slog of levelling from 1 - 85, or looting an item you have farmed for a long time*
- Spending more than half a year in DS with a genuine smile on my face

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Stuff

Do you know an existing member of the Highland Warriors? If so, who: for how long, and how do you know them? nope

Why do you want to join the Highland Warriors?
Frankly? I have no clue who you guys are and just want to try whether or not I would enjoy raiding with you and you with me.

What I am looking for is a group that takes the progression (normal or heroic) seriously in the sense that they show up on time and prepared individualy give it everything they have. On the other hand, while progression is important to me it does not matter over what time and I would like to raid in a relaxed atmosphere and play for fun.

How will you improve yourself as a Highland Warrior?

It's hard to improve in a 10 man as you are unlikely to play with a player of the same class. However, being a noob ranged dps I am honestly looking forward to hearing criticism and suggestion on how to get better.

Hello there, Julietta, thankyou for your application :)

Firstly, apologies for the delay in replying... I've been away for the weekend with intermittent phone signal, so although I was able to read your application, I was unable to respond.

I must say, your application is very positive, but there was a little bit that I was suprised by...

Your application suggests that you are a player who takes the game relatively seriously, and strives to get the best out of the time you spend in Azeroth, so I was a little suprised to see that you'd applied to a guild without really taking the time to find out if we'd be compatible. From the things you have said, I would wager that we are, but obviously I can say that with some confidence as I know who we are. Our rules and policies create a very stable, drama free environment and as such, suit alot of people, but I'd be lying if I said that those expectations haven't sat well with one or two along the way.

We like to be sure that the people we recruit will fit with, and compliment, the (frankly) wonderful people who wear our tabbard. We also know that a successful recruit enjoys a mutually benficial relationship: it's a two way street and we have to like each other. We're a cautious bunch, and we're not ones to take a punt without trying to dot as many i's and cross as many t's as possible.

We appreciate that everyone's time is precious, it's a busy old world... Which is why the application pre-amble lays out who we are, what motivates us and who we're looking for and if we're the sort of guild a player could call home. Furthermore, if you wanted to probe a little deeper into the sort of attitude we have, all of the past applications are open for browsing so potential recruits can see what we like, and what we don't.

So, before we continue with your application, I'd strongly suggest that you take a look around our forum, perhaps camp our shoutbox for an hour or so and see if we are the sort of guild you're looking for :)

Hi there,

I certainly did check the basics - such as the rules, the raid times, previous applications (to avoid the common mistakes) or your comics series :-). However, there is only so much you can find out about people from the forums (or an application in that matter) and what the part about not having "a clue who you guys are" was more directed on the raiding groups and the raiding environment rather than the guild as a whole.

One more thing I believe should mention is that outside of raiding I'm pretty quiet and prefer to enjoy the game silently, which means that from my part its usually just a small talk in the guild chat and as I meantioned there is really not much for me in the game outside of raiding, which means I will probably not participate in any transmog, pvp etc. On the other hand I enjoy having people around me and am happy to help people who need help or run LFR or 5 man dungeons with guildies.

Thanks, David

Thanks for your reply, Julietta :)

We have no problem with players who are quiet, but it is important to us that you are involved in the guild in some small way. Do you spend much time online when not raiding? You already mentioned 5 man HCs and LFR, but how else do you spend your online time - do you level alts for example?

We do have a couple of raiding MS shadow priests in guild, and also some of our healer priests have pretty well practised shadow OS, so there is lots of potential for help if you need it.

Thinking about it now there's really not much I do during the week that's not for gear (making sure to valor cap, the do ToT LFR, run the HC Scenarios and progress with the legendary quest chain) but I've always been quite curious about the challange mode dungeons, though I never got to the point of actually joining/organising a group.

I've got holidays so I go online at exactly "when I feel like it", which makes it kinda hard to get hold of me ;d I will probably be online in the morning from 9 (+1 CET) or we can rendezvous at let's say 6 pm?

My playtimes are pretty fixed these days due to other commitments, I am usually online Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Although, that said, this week, I will be online tonight (friday) and Saturday.
